Privacy Policy

Relay is a group running-streak app: your group pools its running mileage toward a shared daily goal, and clearing it keeps your streak alive. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep it to what the app actually needs — nothing more.

What we collect

Account — your email address (to sign in) and the display name you choose.
Workouts from Apple Health — for your running and walking workouts we read the distance, duration, and start/end times. Access is read-only; we never write to Health, and we do not read any other health data.
Group activity — your group membership and your daily mileage totals, so the shared goal and streak can be calculated.
Notifications — if you enable them, a device token so we can send you push notifications.

How we use it

To run the shared streak — pool everyone's miles toward the daily goal and show each member's contribution.
To send the notifications you turn on (goal cleared, streak at risk, milestones).
To keep you signed in across launches.

What your group can see

Members of a group you join can see your display name and your per-day and per-run contributions from the date you joined onward. Your raw location/GPS is never collected or shared — only distance, time, and duration.

Health data

Data obtained from Apple Health is used solely to add your miles to your group's goal. It is never used for advertising or marketing, and is never sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes.

Who we share with

We don't sell your data. We use these service providers to operate the app:

Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
Apple — Push Notification service, and HealthKit on your device.
Resend — sending sign-in emails.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account anytime in the app (Account settings → Delete account), which permanently removes your profile, runs, and memberships. Aggregate group history that doesn't identify you may remain so your group's streak isn't broken.

Children

Relay isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; we'll revise the date above when we do.
